“A Los Angeles Winter” – PopJulia Review

Winter in Los Angeles is much different from anywhere else in the world. Can we really call it Winter? It’s usually warm during the day and when night falls it’s super chilly! It’d be a dream if we were able to experience a white Christmas here in LA, haha! We don’t have the full Winter experience because it doesn’t look like Winter at all for us and it can randomly be 80 degrees on some days. Today, we will be talking to you how to dress for a warm kind of Winter! We will be styling our new pink fuzzy coats we received from PopJulia. Neither of us have tried PopJulia and so far we have loved their wide selection of clothing. If you are into trendy and unique pieces that look high fashion then PopJulia is the place to shop. Of course, you know that we love to match all the time. So, it’s imperative that we opt for different styles to show you all the ways you can style this cute coat.

This Winter has been all about faux fur coats. We have been seeing all types of coats in different shapes, colors, and textures. Both of us have been really into the biggest, most long haired, and coziest coats!

Thanks to PopJulia, we were able to style one piece of clothing from them. They allowed us to pick an item. And surprise surprise! We chose the same exact coat in the same color. Out of all the many cute stuff they had on the site. We weren’t even next to each other when we decided. Is this really a coincidence? I’m still not used to this haha.

For my outfit, I was going for an evening date kind of look. I stuck with the classic all black, which also made it look like I am wearing a dress. However, I am actually wearing two pieces, an off the shoulder top and a skirt, both from Forever 21. You can’t go wrong with an all black outfit for date nights. But what also made me decide on choosing all black was to make my coat stand out more. I just love this shade of dusty pink.

Since I’m not wearing much accessories, I chose a pair blingy earrings to give my outfit that extra boost. I went with these elegant chandelier earrings from Forever 21.

Oh man, excuse the lines on my feet haha! I wore socks right before changing into these stilettos and they left an imprint. Darn it, haha. Well these babies are from Steve Madden. I love the gunmetal shade that makes these heels not too shiny as silver would be. The height and comfort of these stilettos are great!

This coat is so perfect for a warm Winter because it’s almost like a cardigan. While it does look like a very heavy coat, with how fuzzy and thick it looks, it’s actually very light and thin. I’ve never really found an in between coat like this before where it’s perfect for warmer temperatures but looks the perfect part for Winter. What types of coat do you prefer for the Winter?

For this look, I decided on a more cute and casual look since Cindy dressed it up! I went with my velvet ribbon dress that I picked up at the Valfre sample sale a few months ago. I don’t really have much clothing in mustard, so this was a fun change for me. What gives this dress a super cute vibe is the little neck ribbon and the ruffles on this swing skirt. Whenever I wear this dress, it makes me feel like a doll, haha! Since this fuzzy coat should be the statement piece of this outfit, I kept the look on a simpler note.

I love that you two both chose the same coats yet had two totally different looks!!! Totally love the idea of it being a pop of color with a solid black dress, but also being able to colorblock it with another bold color too!

Oh, the coats. I love it. They look like the fuzziest coziest coats one can find. A great piece of clothing that can dress up a simple dress. And the color makes it even better. You’ve both done a great job at styling it.

    Love,
    Sandra

I do not have a LA winter, but a Silicon Valley winter, so very close. Love the warm climate, moved here a year ago, and would not change it for anything. You ladies look very chic. I think this type of coat changes the entire outfit and takes it to another level. It is very Kate Moss like. Your styling is great, very appropriate for the carnaval celebrations, I also like when it is styled with jeans and t-shirts.
I think fashionistas like you, would like my latest blog post about the Golden Globes 2018 best dresses. Let me know what you think

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the cooler temps in LA right now – sadly, next week it is going to be HIGH 70s, IE: 85 most likely… So put away the heavy coats! ha!

  17. Love those pink coats. I’m in Seattle and the temperature can either be in the 30s up to the 60s during winter. It’s hard to dress for!

  18. Sarah Dean

Very cute! I could never pull off a pink coat but you both look great! Lovely pictures. 🙂

  19. Austen

I’d like to just take a nap in this fluffy pink coat, pls and thank you.
