Fishnets: Your Friend or Foe?

Fishnets are the biggest, latest trend that’s been coming back. Whether it be fishnet stockings or fishnet socks, it’s EVERYWHERE. I was never a huge fan of fishnet stockings because I always associated it with a costume or lingerie wear. So I decided to go outside of my comfort zone and try this trend out. As it turns out, this trend has grown on me immensely and now I’ve committed myself to the fishnets galore.

One of my favorite styles to go for is something dark and edgy because half of my closet is filled with black. I styled this look with my favorite lip baseball crop top and a pair of high waist, faux leather shorts. What I love about this look is that it’s super comfortable. The tee is loose and airy, while these shorts fit like a glove. Another combination that I always go for is to switch out the faux leather shorts with a pair of denims if you’re looking for something more casual and warm.

So you’re probably wondering what I meant about fishnet stockings being your friend or foe. I’m stuck in a current love-hate relationship with these fishnet tights. Don’t get me wrong, they look AMAZING with so many outfits, but I hate the feeling when your toes stick out of the stockings. And you still need to wear socks with the stockings!

Faux Suede Sock Booties

To finish off this look, I wore my new chunky, faux suede sock booties from Forever 21. If you’re really loving these, they’re on sale right now! 🙂 If you’re feeling for a more casual outfit, I would switch these booties with a pair of some high top Converse! Those are always my go-to if I’m looking for some comfortable kicks.

    Fishnets are definitely my friend but I am a total spaz and get them caught on things all the time. Owning multiple pairs is crucial 😉

    While the fishnet trend does look cool on some people, I am getting a little over it tbh as I’ve seen too much of it lately on ig! If it’s styled differently, I don’t mid so much though 🙂
